Zac Brown Band Skips ACM Awards for USO Tour

I just read this from the Zac Brown Band website . . . .

Zac Brown Band Skips ACM Awards for USO Tour
Although nominated for the Academy of Country Music's entertainer of the year, the Zac Brown Band won't be able to make the awards show this year.  The group will be halfway around the world on a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour in the Persian Gulf.

But those watching the ACM Awards (CBS, tonight, 8 p.m. ET/tape delay PT) will still be able to check in with the band via video footage of them entertaining the troops that will air throughout the ceremony.

So stinking proud!  Go to his site and read more by following the link below!

Final Episode Season 7 Project Runway Pick

Well it’s down to the last episode for this season 7 of Project Runway.  I haven’t been able to keep up this season, what with traveling and computer issues.  I think I’ve missed three episodes.  I was hoping that I would catch the marathon (Lifetime April 22nd 9am-10pm if you are interest), but it looks like I will miss that too.

So far I have 119 points and in 2280th place for the season.  Not too shabby since I started late right?  And the fact that I didn’t get a change to change my team after Jonathan lost.

And now it’s time to pick who I want to win.  I’m sad to say that Jonathan is no longer in the running.  I think he would have been my pick.  As it is I have to pick from three that I’m not that excited about.  So my pick for Season 7 Project Runway’s Top Designer is . . . . . (drum roll) . . . . . . .

Zac Brown Band and Ram Trucks Partner To Help Honor U.S. Soldiers!

Some of ya'll will remember that I use to have Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band playing on my blog.  Although it went perfect with the blog, there was another reason that I wanted to have it here.  It pays tribute to America’s Soldiers.  And I think we just don’t do that enough.

There is also another small reason.  I happen to know Zac.  We haven’t been in touch in a long time, but I’ve gotten the greatest joy watching him become an amazing star, winning Grammies and playing with Jimmy Buffett!  But what I am most proud of is his work with the USO.

In fact Zac and his band are partnering with Ram Trucks to honor U.S. Soldiers!  This is from his website.

Letters for Lyrics Campaign
Starting in May, Zac Brown Band and the Ram Trucks kick off “Letters for Lyrics,” a national campaign with a goal of sending 1 million letters to U.S. soldiers stationed across the world. Participants who write a letter to a U.S. soldier will receive a special compilation CD titled, “Breaking Southern Ground,” while supplies last. This exclusive CD features three all-new songs from Zac Brown Band, as well as music from artists signed to Zac Brown’s label, Southern Ground Records, Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey.

I’m super excited about this and couldn’t be prouder.  And I really hope ya’ll will take the time to participate.  Saying thanks may not seem like a big thing, but it can mean a lot to a soldier and their family.

Bath Paint

I know it’s been a long while since I have posted, and I do have a few things that I’ve been wanting to share. Some of it will have to wait until the new laptop arrives. Yeah! For now it's homemade bath paint! I’ve seen some recipes that called for using food coloring but that seems like a bad idea to me, but tempera paint seems perfect for something like this. It’s non-toxic AND washable. Perfect! It’s just baby soap (I actually used baby shampoo that I had never used that was a freebee from Publix) and tempera paint. I added to the two straight into Wilton melted chocolate bottles. It will separate after a while, but just shack it and keep using it.
